Ummm... Woops. Also Pokemon Crystal isn't out for another 2 and a half weeks. That's a pre-purchase deal going on there.

Hey all, hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! What’s everyone played/been playing? Anyone completed a game in 2018 yet? Any 2018 gaming resolutions? My personal goal is to try to be much more consistent when it comes to gaming this year, and I hope to round off certain playthroughs which I’ve been putting off for a while now (I’m looking at you, Final Fantasy VII and Horizon Zero Dawn) before I dive into anything new.

I love grinding in this game, just wandering around, looking for stuff, and annihilating the local wildlife population, I seem to prefer that than the story, then remember and progress it a bit. Well I just finished Chapter 2. It makes me laugh when the boss gets absolutely trounced by my overpowered team, and then the following cutscene shows the enemy with the upper hand and me winning by chance, well worked chance, but still. Oh come on, I murdered the boss, lol. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Finally got around to watching Your Name this evening and thought it was really good. Nice story and some great animation. It’s been a while since I’ve watched an anime movie so I think it stood out a bit more but you really can see the massive difference a good budget makes with this compared to tv anime’s.

Current rumors are saying that there are plans to bring across 2 and 3 to the Switch as well. I’m probably going to end up getting this on PS4 and Switch. I played but never got terribly far into the game on PC. I do recall killing the asylum demon with the starting equipment, it’s funny how skill level grows in these games.

Just a reminder that you will not be able to buy Wii Points past Monday 26th March 2018. These are the games I'm currently looking to buy: Castlevania Rondo of Blood Bomberman Blast Crystal Defenders R1 Crystal Defenders R2 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord (+ it's DLC) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (+ it's DLC) Contra ReBirth Gradius ReBirth Pokemon Rumble I already own some games on there but I think the above are the remaining exclusives that are worth me picking up. Anybody else looking to purchase Wii Shop games before it's too late?

IIRC it's right at the start of the new area you unlock with Blood and Wine. It's takes some doing progressing up that tree, but the different routes change the gameplay quite a bit - some fun stuff in there! Jealous you're playing through for the first time - enjoy! In related news.. Camaaaannn!!! That one-word tweet hype

Finished the demo and thought it was the best thing I've played for ages. As I understand it, this game is Minecraft with a Dragon Quest theme? Well, I've no previous experience with Minecraft, but it applies the Dragon Quest feel very well. It's addictive to build the houses, and you can fill them with quintessentially DQ items such as pots and chests. I've read the criticism and will probably agree with it when I get that far, but I have a feeling I'll enjoy the game enough to overcome it. Can't wait to play the full release!

Looking forward to this starting up again in a couple of weeks. Have a theme suggestion for you @Glen-i, how about merging 2 of the most entertaining N-E MK themes? Wario and Bob-omb only with "Smart" Steering? Would be truly spectacular I reckon.

Was reading through the thread for the Wii U version earlier. It's funny seeing the initial reaction to the game again, and reliving my obsession with Tingle being a playable character!

Not at all. 1 and 2 are the closest to each other but they still have adjusted mechanics. Playstyle is very similar however. Biggest difference is the removal of ragdoll physics sadly. Bloodborne plays completely differently. Defensive strategies are just not meant to be viable like they used to be. It’s a game about striking first fast and hard. Some fundamental mechanics do remain from the Souls games though of course. Dark Souls 3 is an excellent blending of the two playstyles. Sword and board is still great, but everything is a bit more sped up. Dodging and being fast is viable now. Plus us all the storylines are obviously all different and pretty good actually.

Pensions: Take a look at this. It's illegal for your work not to enroll if they meet the criteria and I imagine there are harsh penalties for companies that do not do it. The website I linked has a form you can fill in to report them. It will probably be obvious this is coming from you if something does happen. Your work cannot take anything out on you because of this. Sacking you would be illegal so don't worry about that or anything. I'd fill this in ASAP and don't tell your work you are doing it. Freelance: Just start finding jobs. Look at FreeAgent when you get a job (not before) and use that for your tax. It's pretty cheap and does everything for you. You'll need to submit a self-assessment tax assessment at the end of next year, unless you don't invoice a job until after April 5th 2018, in which case you wouldn't need to do one until the following year. Get jobs first, worry about tax second! Definitely do worry about tax though! www.Gov.uk is actually a very good website in regards to tax advice. Look up their section on self-employment and look at some forums about tax for side-jobs.

Soooo....I think through some specialness of my own I may not have actually been watching this year's, yet I can't find the original damn twitch stream I had to finish the one I WAS watching! They weren't far off world 6 I had wondered as you don't mention it much @drahkon, dunno what to say about YI after all as from what I've seen of the actual one from this year it seems more lively than I described. I like SMW runs still but they've gotten to some points where it's just crazy beyond sense! Edit: can ANYONE tell me when the fuck this clip is from?? I honestly can't find any fucking info to date it. @Dcubed you know your AGDQ stuff right?! - https://m.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick/v/5852154?sr=a&t=0s Editedit: think it's a 2015 stream! Checked the hashtag. Fucking AGDQ/Twitter need to sort their fucking organisation and titling out even if I have enjoyed this!

Theres already a huge Switch library. Its full of fresh content. I'm not surprised of the Wii U ports. I welcome them and appreciated the PS3 ports when I bought a PS4. A great direct in my eyes. This is not everything releasing in the next six months. The Switch's first year hasn't even finished!

2017 has been a hell of a year for gamers. Nintendo found it's feet again with the a new console, Sony continued to go from strength to strength with the PS4 and Microsoft launched a new console that made them and their fans proud to have the most powerful console on the planet. The lineup of exclusive games on the PS4 has been staggering and this year pretty much cemented the console as one of the all time greats in my eyes. I've usually been able to keep up with games releases, even when owning multiple consoles, but this year the PS4 lineup completely broke me. I have a staggering backlog and there is no let up at the start of 2018. Anyway, this year I had some great gaming experiences that were spread out among a few consoles. I've listed games that disappointed me, games that got forgotten by many gamers, games that surprised me, my favourite song in a game and my best 3 games on the PS4, 3DS and Switch. While i'm here I may as well dish out my 2018 GOTY.
