I'm sorry Kav, you had to mention "Merc" 5 times to win tonight's star prize. But thanks for playing.

WHERE'S MY CHIBI ROBO YOU MOTHERFUCKERS. <ahem> I liked the Direct, though I would have liked a Mario Maker Switch surprise announcement. And well, Chibi Robo. The World Ends With You: Final Remix (2018) - Probably not getting this. I have the original, and to me it seems this is not a game you should play on anything else but a DS. Extra content however.. Hmm. Pokkén Tournement DX Battlepack dlc (wave 1 31-01-2018; wave 2 23-03-2018) - Looks nice if you're into the game, which I'm not really. But if I were, I would have liked more than 2 extra characters. But since I hear nobody talk about this game, I guess two is already more than can be expected. Dragonquest Builders demo - I'll comment in it's own thread once I've played the demo. Kirby Star Allies (16-03-2018) - For someone who likes Kirby, I own surprisingly few Kirby games. I wish they'd give Kirby the tripple A treatment for once (i.e. like Mario), but I'm getting this. Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition (Spring 2018) - Musou, I'll pass. Mario Tennis Aces (Spring 2018) - I've never been big on (Mario) Tennis games (I would have preferred a new Mario football game announcement), but could be a fun addition to my multiplayer library. Especially if it has motion controls, which wasn't mentioned. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Summer 2018) - Maybe. I've never played an Ys game, but could be interesting, especially after Xenoblade. I'd need to see more. Super Mario Odyssey update (February 2018) - That's genius. SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy (Summer 2018) - Eh, why the hell not. I only play the women anyway. ACA NEOGEO Art of Fighting 2 - Once I have a fighting stick, I'll get a couple of these ACA NEOGEO titles, but not this one. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle (Spring 2018) dlc - They went with the obvious choice. Looking forward to it! Payday 2 (23-02-2018) - Never had any interest in this. Fe (16-02-2018) - Most likely getting this. Celeste (25-01-2018) - Probably not getting this. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (04-05-2018) - Missed out on this, and with all the praise it's getting here on NE, I'm definitely getting this. Dark Souls Remastered (25-05-2018) - The most exciting thing for me in this Direct. Getting this. Hope we'll get the other two as well, as haven't played the sequels before.

To fill out Roc’s affinity chart you need to do Merc Missions and fill the Merc Rank meter, then talk to the guys at Merc HQ in Garfont, Uraya, to level up your Merc Level.

Hey all, hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! What’s everyone played/been playing? Anyone completed a game in 2018 yet? Any 2018 gaming resolutions? My personal goal is to try to be much more consistent when it comes to gaming this year, and I hope to round off certain playthroughs which I’ve been putting off for a while now (I’m looking at you, Final Fantasy VII and Horizon Zero Dawn) before I dive into anything new.

So, Dark Souls Remastered is coming soon. We own DSIII, but I haven't got around to playing it. @Eenuh has and she loved it. Tempted to get the remastered game when it's out and then play through that, 2 and 3 to experience the lot. Orrrr...I may just play Bloodborne again.

I'm currently working on a review and have an interview with the developers for the site as well, I won't say too much but if you like beat em ups/boss fights, and surreal and intriguing story telling, I wouldnt hesitate to pick it up

OH MY GOD!! ADELEINE IS BA... oh wait... never mind...

This is a prime example of when rumours get way out of control and can be detrimental. If word of this hadn't leaked and it had just dropped, then we'd be happier.

I love grinding in this game, just wandering around, looking for stuff, and annihilating the local wildlife population, I seem to prefer that than the story, then remember and progress it a bit. Well I just finished Chapter 2. It makes me laugh when the boss gets absolutely trounced by my overpowered team, and then the following cutscene shows the enemy with the upper hand and me winning by chance, well worked chance, but still. Oh come on, I murdered the boss, lol. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Personally, I really hope they will never again do a Direct. Or rather they won't do one until I can afford a Switch.

Cult favourite DS game about trends and Shibuya and Death gets an amazing third chance on the Switch. Features updated visuals, a choice between touch or traditional controls and a new scenario. No release date as of now. EDIT: Oh, I probably should mention that the footage had this character show up. Make of that what you will.

I could give a summary of what this game entails but we all know there's only one question that needs to be answered. Is American Kirby on the box art? It also has a Friend Train, which is all you ever need to know.

Yeah the embargo has been and gone (I've been really ill last few days so not done much of any work) so I just don't want to spoil, but yeah soundtrack is really enjoyable and memorable too. Honestly I really like the game overall, I think it's really interesting and plays well too! Could be headed for an infamous 8/10 like Mario Odyssey if it isn't careful

Yeah, I’m pretty much convinced that there’ll be another Direct, if typical 25-50 minute length, in the next 1 - 6 weeks (i.e. by the start of March). A quick look at the Wikipedia page for Nintendo Directs tells us that Direct Minis are typically followed up by a typical Direct in 1-4 weeks, but focusing mainly on Direct Minis followed up by a Direct which aren’t both exclusive to Japan narrows it down to only three separate occasions where there’s a range of 8-37 days following the Mini before a Direct. I’m fairly confident in this: we have games which we’ve known about for over a year, such as Fire Emblem and Project Octopath Traveller, which remain without a release date, and whilst it’s of course possible that they’re H2 (or worse yet: delayed), I think that such announcements belong in a Direct, and might have been delayed to one accordingly. Honestly, I just hope we hear about Virtual Console sooner rather than later. If they take too long, I’m going to get a bit nervous about how they might be attaching classic games exclusively to the purchase, and use of, the Switch’s online service.

I agree with @dazzybee that it’s currently not looking so great for the big Nintendo fans that supported Wii U. Really did hope there would be more in the way of brand new stuff hitting Switch soon. And while I picked up MK8DX and would almost certainly get a potential Smash 4 or Super Mario Maker port, there’s no other Wii U titles that I’d want to buy/play again on Switch. So yeah, with Kirby and the other stuff not really appealing to me, that basically means it’s just Mario Tennis on the horizon at the moment, and based on recent titles in the series that could unfortunately go tits up too. But like I said before, it’s great stuff for newcomers and I’m sure these Wii U rereleases will sell very well on Switch. Of course that also means less incentive for Nintendo to get original titles out there in a hurry, so I guess patience is in order once again.

Story Mode in Mario Tennis is VERY welcome, I might actually pick it up now. DKCTF absolutely deserves another shot, incredible game. Very surprised no Fire Emblem or Yoshi. I guess this Direct lived up to its mini name

Yep, I instantly thought of you when that showed up. I liked how blatantly girly the visuals were.
  26. 1 point
Not sure if this is known, but there's now a demo available for the first game on the Nintendo eShop.

Well that’s aces indeed! Can’t believe that the madmen are attempting a story mode in a HD Mario Tennis game... ... ... No really, I don’t believe it. I don’t expect it to be anywhere near the full fledged RPG Tennis experience that the GBC and GBA games were (It’ll probably be more akin to a Mario Party style “story mode”). Still, the fact that they actually look like they’re trying brings joy to my hear!

All aboard the Friend Train! Except Adeleine. She gets replaced by a Copy ability.

Glad I'm not the only one. There's a ridiculous amount of content. Anyway, I forgot to mention that this will feature split screen local co-op (Like Fire Emblem Warriors) and it comes out sometime in Spring. I hope there's some DLC in the pipeline. Gotta milk that BOTW for much more than a couple of costumes. The Sheikah Slate/Runes could make for a fun moveset for Zelda (Link has enough weapons) and the character roster is lacking someone from the Rito Race. Revali would be a cool choice. We don't have someone wielding a Bow. And an adventure map that's bigger than all the other ones combined just because. Still gonna secretly wish for Ricky from the Oracles games. We got Marin in the 3DS one, so we're almost there.

Well, truth be told, we are waiting for more info on the previously announced Fire Emblem for the Nintendo Switch, so more information on that is not really a big surprise. So just get ready to lose your shit :P.

Absolutely nuts. I’m loving every single second of this. Everyone’s coming up with their own conspiracies all over the place, ranging from news of a new Fire Emblem game (Chibi-Robo is on fire; hot(=fire) dog; etc.) to Nintendo purposely putting people through a loop. And everyone’s going nuts over Twitter accounts for Assassin’s Creed, Star Citizen and Resident Evil responding to their vague tweets. IGN’s Alanah Pearce is saying that she’s only heard that it would be coming later this week, Laura Kate Dale is near-positive it’s coming this week, and agrees with someone else on Twitter, who is claiming that they were in contact with people who would have knowledge of the matter as recently as last night; they supposedly informed them that the Direct is indeed happening tomorrow. My best bet would be that Nintendo is aware of the anticipation, and if anything, the craze is only benefiting them, as more and more people are hearing about the Direct than might have otherwise. I wonder if they’ll shadow-drop it or only announce it an hour before it airs? EDIT: interesting Twitter theory about the Direct coming out of the blue...
  33. 1 point
Nah, it'll be funnier if they don't.

That hype thread on resetera is something else. Absolute insanity. NOA’s twitter winding everyone up is the icing on the cake.

An entire new skill tree thing on top of the standard one. New weapons, armour and Witcher gear upgrades. You're in for a treat, the "season pass" puts most other games DLC to shame.

Imagine getting people this hyped for the announcement of an announcement video

    Someone, please, make it stop...

Yeah, I think the fact that GameStop posted and deleted that tweet, coupled with the fact that Nintendo JP’s Direct website currently has a free spot (15 Directs down from the “full” 16; typical indicator that there’s a Direct incoming) definitely seems to point to it being on its way. @Glen-i part of me wants them to round it off by just shadow-dropping the damn thing in the middle of the work day. They've played the trolling card expertly up to this point, this is way too funny I wonder if they’ll do anything for April Fool’s this year... EDIT: on a side note, Red Hook Studios just announced that Darkest Dungeon is releasing next Thursday. I wonder if we could see any other release dates for Nindies announced prior to the Direct? EDIT 2: Nintendo tweets! They definitely know what they’re doing... ...Chibi-Robo for Switch confirmed?!

Trick is not to hit any of the shockwave things, just stay in one corner and throw Cappy towards the incoming baddies. Then move to another corner and repeat till you get to the end. I'll often take a hit or two though in that section.
