3 pointsMan, some of the cutscenes in the game are tremendous. I'm only 20 hours in and it's already better than the first Xenoblade game.

2 pointsOh, BTW! One more thing that @Dcubed may have come up with that's too perfect for this night. In case it wasn't obvious, Four Swords is the inspiration for this night. So for one week only, we're holding a vote. A vote for the... & In possibly the stupidest move ever conceived. Each team will hold a vote on which member was a total Team Player and which member was an Utter Jerk. After the night, I will ask each racer to send me a PM stating which person on their team is worthy of the Hero of Light title and which one deserves to be shamed as the Hero of Darkness. Let me hit you with the lowdown... You will gain a few points for each "Hero of Light" vote you receieve. On the other hand, you will lose a few points for each "Hero of Darkness" vote you receieve. You will not be able to vote for people on the opposite team as you. So don't even bother, they're meant to be jerks to you! You can't vote for yourself. You can't vote for the same person twice. So no voting the same bloke as Hero of Light and Hero of Darkness. Refusal or failure to vote 3 days after this Thursday will result in a penalty to your score. And I can't really stop you from doing this, but don't just vote for the highest scoring players just because they're the highest scoring. That's mean and ruins the fun. Be honest with who was nice and who wasn't. And that's that. Please declare yourself in as soon as possible.

2 pointsHere are the results GP1 GP2 GP3 And here's the current table. The top 3 racers all went down in average this week. Guess we're too dumb for Smart Steering. Or we're laughing too much. @S.C.G claims his first 2nd place, meaning that everyone who is over the minimum attendance requirement (33%) has placed second at least once. @BowserBasher becomes the 4th member of the "1000 point club" which has exactly the same amount of benefits, after you minus 1,000... I feel like now is a good time to inform y'all that this Mini League will have it's last night on the 21st of December. I will continue running the league into 2018, assuming I don't get a vote of no confidence. This means there are 3 more league nights this year. Here's next week's Disastrous December Death Theme. Just don't expect it to be as insane as this week. Not even I predicted that. Next League Night: 7th December 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @martinist @punio75 @viceview51 Still to declare @S.C.G @RedShell @Blade @Vileplume2000 @Nicktendo This week's gimmick no-one asked for is Team Races. Far too much competition going on here, I want to see some competitive co-operation this time. So for this night, you'll be split up into two teams. Here's the rundown on how this will go down... Team members will be determined solely by my discretion. I will be aiming to split the two teams as balanced and fairly as possible going by the current placings on the table. (So for example, RedShell and I will not be on the same team) Points will still be earned depending on your placing. So coming 1st will still be the highest scoring method. At the end of each GP, each member of the team with the most points will earn BONUS points. In the case of an odd number of entrants, CPU's will fill in the blank spaces. The team with the lower amount of human racers will have the highest place CPU added to their Team's Total score. For the sake of ease for @BowserBasher and me, I'd like you all to declare yourself in as soon as possible. I'll be posting the team members on this thread at around 7pm. If you have any questions or don't understand something, just ask me. Sign up Now!

2 points@Glen-i You're a hilarious person. Not because of your dislike for the game, but because you're clearly so angry with the people who do like it. That use of 'principle' tickled me good.

1 pointWatch it! I didn't find it too bad. Just a little bit jarring as it felt out of place from the rest of the series. Loved this series so much though. I'd watched the first two episodes of S1 a long time back and then fell off the wagon due to being busy, but pretty much binged the rest of S1 and S2. So so good. If you don't agree Steve and Bob are the heroes of this story, I don't think we can be friends. And...

1 pointCan't say that's the toughest draw England have ever had, still, there's endless possibilities for us to somehow screw it up... Unfortunately it doesn't look like England are going to play in St. Petersburg (unless they finish second in the group AND somehow make it to the semi-finals), so it looks like I won't be able to get to a game... Argentina vs. Nigeria is the most tantalising prospect from the group stages here, Brazil will also be playing, I just can't remember against who. England fans can see them play Belgium in Kaliningrad, which is about 2 hours away from the UK by plane (though I doubt there are any direct flights, probably better to go via Poland or Lithuania). If anyone is interested in going to that game, the city is beautiful and modern, if you stick to the centre, with a weird mix of German, Soviet and Neo-Russian architecture. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and places to visit. Definitely unlike anywhere else in Eastern Europe and worth visiting if you want to make it to a game fairly easily and cheaply. I might try to go, but obviously June is a long way away. If anyone IS thinking about coming to Russia for the World Cup, I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have!

1 pointHa! Apologie, only just spotted this. I've got little for you but a couple worth checking out.. Song Exploder - Not so much historical, but it has great musicians on; each episode is another artist breaking down one of their songs, how they come up with, construct and layer it up. Pretty interesting and the bands they have on are pretty high calibre! Have only listened to a couple episodes but Hit Parade from Slate is pretty much what you described; goes through big hits through history and goes through how their influences, why they resonated with their times and their significance after release. My issue with it is that it's pretty rare that he does stuff about bands I'm interested in! Lastly, Unbreak My Chart is a good listen; slightly similar to the above but with current top 40 stuff, looking at why what's popular is popular. That's all I got!

1 pointReally enjoying this so far! I've just reached Novigrad, and done a few quests in and around the town (city?). Prefer this part of the game to Velen, which is really damp, dark and depressing, but I guess that's the point. It's probably the glitchiest game I've ever played on the PS4, which I was surprised about. So many bizarre things going on in cut scenes, but I love shit like that.

1 pointI've found myself pleasantly enjoying this game in bite size chunks. It's got the Animal Crossing feel down to a tee and it looks lovely on my Pixel XL...but it isn't a true AC game, it's very very mobile (obviously...) If I play too much of it a day it gets boring after 20 mins or so, but it's nice to check in and chip away at villager requests, improving camper van and campsite etc. Echo what @Redshell says in terms of money making; I've had no desire to buy any tickets and I won't either, so I'll be interested to see in future financial reports whether this is making money like Fire Emblem or not like Mario. Either way, it's another nice Nintendo title on mobile

1 pointRegarding the username/friend code discussion I much prefer the PS4. What I dislike most about the Switch is everyone just using their first names so if you have 7 people calling themselves 'Chris' then you have no idea who is who. Also, whilst it's great you can change the displayed name whenever you want, if someone is constantly changing it then you would have no idea who the fuck they are each time the come online with a different name! What do you do then look at their profile and try and figure out who they are by their friend code?! (there might be something else it shows in their profile, don't know). It would be nice to be able to change you're PSN user name, maybe once every 6 months or something, but I still much prefer that system over Nintendo's. To be honest I didn't even realise Nintendo still used friend codes - isn't there a Nintendo Account you use now? Can you not add people using that? If not then there's friend codes, Nintendo account ID, display name all being different - seems kinda confusing to me!

1 pointThat should never be the case. I mentioned this recently in another thread about how I love how Easy Allies do their reviews. They actually finish the games before reviewing them and post the video/review when it's ready and not as soon as the embargo drops. That way the guys have enough time to enjoy the game, have time to think about what they've played and then post a the review. If they get this fine before the deadline then great but if not then it's no big deal. I love that approach and it's one many in the industry should adopt.

1 pointIs there really a core of English players in that Man City side? 3 English players started last night and none on the bench. If England come close to winning the world cup I'll eat my hat. Great win for Arsenal last night. I messaged my brother on about 65 minutes saying how badly they were playing. 5 minutes later Ozil had 2 assists and a goal.
-
1 pointBreath of the Wild. I bought a Wii U to play it, and I'd only seen footage of the opening 5 minutes before setting down to it myself, and yet it somehow surpassed my expectations. In the 21st century there has been a handful of games that stand out to me as trailblazers. Grand Theft Auto III, Halo, Portal, Demon's Souls, and now Breath of the Wild. People will look back on it as a pivotal point in the history of game design.

1 pointYou guys should try signing up for this: https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/en-us/articles/223517768-Humble-Partner-Program-Beta-FAQ I'm sure a lot of us here buy the Humble Bundles anyway. Adding an extra slider which allows you guys to get a portion would be fine by me. Though it might take a while before you get a payout as $250 is the minimum.
