I see the appear offline function on the PS4 is borked. I just noticed I was signed in and tried appearing offline but had no luck. A quick google has shown this is a widespread problem that's been going on for a few days now. People and websites have tried reaching out to Sony as to why it's happening but they've been less than helpful and offered no real solution. Nice to see the increase in price for my PS+ subscription is going to good use.

Carrying on with finishing games from this years backlog, I had a look on the shelf and decided to crack on with this game. I finished and platinumed the first game earlier in the year and got close to beating the second. I decided to skip the second game and go straight for the third. I've nabbed the platinum for it this evening. The 3rd game was my favourite in my youth and that still remains the same today. I love the variety to the levels and Naughty Dog finally seemed to nail a good length of a stage. As much as I adored Mario Odyssey, it was nice to play a platformer with a bit of challenge to it. Some of the time trials in this game would put Champions Road to shame. They were still easier than Crash 1's time trials, though. Those things were brutal! I may go back to the second game and keep picking away at it. It would be nice to finally get the game off my PS4 menu before the end of the year. It's been sitting on there since June!

I understand where you're coming from, but the Switch being region free means I'm likely to purchase many more titles as I can get more for my money. I've purchased far more than I ever planned to and I would have missed out on some of these games otherwise. From my understanding, Indie developers are quite supportive of this system (PS4 uses it) and I'm sure Nintendo made the decision to let players switch regions knowing full well how to create the best possible environment for developers.

No, it's still a "2 part movie". The 4th Avenger film was filmed back top back, and will be released in 2019. Presumably it will deal with the aftermath of whatever happens in this one. HYPE

I had a similar thing to you Kav a few days before Mario came out, I took the Switch out of the dock and it would let unlock it but afterwards was just stuck on a black screen. Nothing I did seemed to help, tried locking it and unlocking it a few times, trying it in the dock but no response. Luckily a hard reset sorted it out but for a while I was terrified of losing my saves and not having a console to play Mario on. I think that's the only technical hitch I've had in 7 months of owning it so I'm pretty lucky really, my brother had to start all over again on Zelda and Mario Kart. Desperately need cloud saves announced soon, I'm antsy for them to bring out the Zelda DLC now so I can get that finished while my save data still exists, would hate to have to go through it again just to get to the new stuff.

@Ganepark32 I've completed the first four missions of the campaign just now. It's your standard CoD affair, nothing special but a good and fun experience. I enjoy it a lot. If the remaining missions can keep this up, I'm in for a hell of a ride. Edit: One thing I hate, and it may sound ridiculous: You have to shoot dogs. I know this is a video game, but still...I have a soft spot for dogs, especially German Shepherds. Just let me shoot Nazis and leave the dogs out of this. Games that make me kill dogs...I HATE 'EM.

Three days into owning a Switch and I'm loving it. Such a massive step up from the Wii U. Shame there are still concerns about the online service, but Nintendo absolutely nailed the console itself, and I'm actually really liking the minimal UI. And Mario Odyssey is just insanely addictive. Already about 200 Moons in! Have added a selection of people from here already, but if you'd like to add me my friend code is 5331-8300-3351. Has anyone here done the changing regions thing to use other the eShop from other countries? Read that Stardew Valley is only £6 on the Mexican eShop instead of £11 here!

I was hoping Kung Fu Panda would at least be an easy platinum but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I know a lad who sunk over £1,000 into FIFA UT... and then once he had the one of the best teams you could possibly have, he let a guy con him online and gave him all his cards/team, thinking he would swap as he had as good a team too!

Does the screen look "on" to you? As in if you tilt it to the right angle does it appear to have light coming from it? This has happened to me a few times, if you hold down the power button for 15 seconds, the official website says I think, that should properly switch it off and then you can turn it back on again. Worth a try, anyway!

Sounds like an interesting theme. Nearly thought I wasn’t going to make it this week as our modem blew last Friday and we’ve only just got the new one today. But im in and hosting as usual.

I'm sure 2 players is fine, but I don't really see the appeal of playing this solo. You can try that out for yourself though, by playing the demo. I had a quick go, but didn't finish the first real level because I'd like to play co-op. But it looks and sounds great, and so far seems to play great from the short time I've played.

Completely agree. Great set pieces, relentless enemies you have to flit around, fast fluid shooting which Two Tribes are not afraid to shake up the formula of and downright fun. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

My GOTY is probably Horizon: Zero Dawn. Not only was it really good, but I only played two games this year, and the other was released in 2015, so doesn't count.

I'm also considering learning .NET. I found this guy's Library App video series useful, and I know he has another one more recently. For anyone interested, Gears for Breakfast have finally announced a release date for A Hat in Time on PS4 (and Xbox One) and it'll be out next week on 6th December. No idea what the price will be, though no doubt the PS4 version will be priced higher as seems to be the course for digital titles being released on both consoles these days. Still, it looks good and finally great to see the game get it's final release beyond the PC one a month ago.

Doing well in the post-game...

On the journey to work I was playing Mario, as I was changing trams I paused and locked the screen but when trying trying to unlock... nothing. Just a black screen with no response from the console no matter what button you press or hold. I know it’s not battery as it was fully charged and would still be above 50% at the end of my journey... I was only half way at this point. Going to have to wait to get home and stick the charger in and leave it, see if that helps at all.
