Its good to see a good mix of launch titles this time around from third party titles. I think the third party launch titles are most important since that was the main problem last generation, so to have all major 3rd parties on board (and excited mind you) with the Wii, that i am sure that this launch will be the best ever. We know Nintendo's standard when it come to their games so we shouldn't worry too much, but the 3rd parties are something we really should be watching out for in the first 6 months to a year of the Wii's life. They will once again be once again a telling sign of their commitment to the Wii. The fact that some studios are moving teams from PS3 and Xbox360 projects to Wii projects is only the beginning.
  3. Wii Is Flowing Freely!

Nintendo has really learned alot post Yamauchi era... and the good news we keep hearing from Ninty can only build up our trust as consumers for the brand. I for one can really see a shining light at the end of the gaming tunnel and am really glad Nintendo had the guts to really try to change the industry, and at the end of the day the gamers ar the ones who will see the rewards of that risk. I cannot wait to play the next leap in gaming! lol

I suppose it might be Sony thinking, well not everyone has HDTV Sets yet so why make average Joe consumer pay for something that has no use until he/she gets a HD TV. After that then slap the $80/$120 for a HDMI cable. Seems fine to me, though for those who have HD TV now i can understand why they might be upset at having to fork over extra for HD visuals
  5. Virtual Console Favourites

My List would include the following: NES: Mike Tyson's Punch Out Pinball SNES: Killer Instinct (if the rights still belong to nintendo, prob not can only hope) Super Tennis Super Mario RPG Chrono Trigger Super Metroid N64: Wave Race Killer Instinct Gold Diddy Kong Racing Paper Mario Turok Lylat Wars Mega Drive: Altered Beast SNES and N64 will get most of my attention, however need to look at Nintendo's catalogue if i can find it somewhere on the net.
  6. The N-Europe Show - Hot Topic #6

I love everything Nintendo. I guess it comes from the fact that all i ever played as a kid was a nintendo console. So having a nintendo upbringing had a big effect on how i thought as a gamer. However my fanboyism didn't really come out until the current generation of console gaming, where gaming itself had become pretty stagnant with the continual sequels of WW2 FPS, Driving, and Sporting titles. I started to hate console gaming *cough...EA....cough*. I was starved of innovation in gaming, and when Nintendo announced the DS and later the Wii (I now randomly say Wiiiiiiiii!!!! at the office in Homer Simpsons' voice), it seemed that gaming was (and is now) getting an injection of freshness. I think subjecting the term 'Fanboyism' to just a gaming fan is quite narrow-minded by a lot of people. I think we have reached a stage in civilisation where we can call anyone a fanboy/girl based on their favorite sporting team, yet calling anyone a fanboy instantly refers to them being a gamer. Now i would like to see the word 'Fanboy' start to be used outside the realm of gaming. But that's an aside back on topic... I think of the gaming industry as a bit of a soap opera. There is gossip (in the form of rumors), and twists (as in new announcements such as the delay of PS3 till march...."laugh @ you SONY!!!")... and of course our favorite characters (in the form of the big 3). It fun to watch all the companies duke it out for our hard-earned cash, and it fun to interact as the fans duke it out on the sidelines. So i say fanboyism is fun, if you don't take it seriously, i mean hey it beats watching paint dry waiting for the real 'next generation' of gaming begins(thats another 5 months worth of watching for you SONY Boys!!...muahahahahaha!!!!)... ahem...excuse me.
