    • Really professional handled game by Germany to get the win over Hungary, who on another night could've drawn or even won -- they just couldn't take their chances. Musiala has been great once again, in last tournaments there were flashes of brilliance but he's so far been very consistent in the opening two matches.  Germany's defence looks like it could be there for the taking against a better team, though, but I'd say the same about most of the defensive back lines at this tournament; football is seriously lacking in quality centre backs and defensive-minded fullbacks these days, similar to how we don't see many traditional 9's.

    • Hi all, You may have noticed (*ahem*) that the forum has been a bit creaky lately. Speaking to Shorty we have figured it is high time we a) move to a new server and b) update the forum which we've let slide. There's no guarantee that it will fix everything (or even anything), but it is certainly worth a short. He's playing around with a different instance at the moment and sent me a link and it is certainly snappier. However as the forum software has updated the design is a little different. Nothing huge, just a modified/updated design. We've agreed that we think its best if we just do the upgrade and release it and then tweak things afterwards due to the speed issues we're currently facing. We don't currently know exactly when it will take place but we will try and do it soon, just dealing with some admin stuff beforehand and obviously it needs to fit around other demands on Shorty's time. It will also involve some downtime but we'll try and keep that to a minimum. I will keep everyone updated and do appreciate people's patience during this slowpoke period.
    • Perfect Dark is absolutely bloody amazing. That is all
    • In the 2D AlphaDream games, yeah. But I don't remember seeing such expressive and fluid animation like that in any 3D character based Mario game before.
Well, SMB Wonder was also very good in that regard, and another occasion where I really noticed a big improvement compared to previous games. Actually yeah, animation aside it's not particularly that impressive, especially in terms of the environments. They definitely appear to have focused mainly on the characters. Even so, I probably wouldn't describe it as phoned in. Oh it's certainly ambitious, but I think they may have been better off waiting for the Switch successor for this game. I really enjoyed Stray, but to be honest, it doesn't exactly feature the most compelling gameplay. It's slow-paced, linear and very constrictive. What elevates the game and makes it special is the high quality visual design and presentation, I'd say it's an integral part of the experience, and an aspect that's clearly not going to go unscathed in the move to Switch.
That said, for those who only play on Switch and have never seen the game running elsewhere, the graphical downgrade probably won't be quite as much of an issue as I'm perhaps making it out to be.
